<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke to the new United States President Joe Biden to discuss regional issues and "shared priorities" and express commitment to a "rule-based international order". </p> <p>Taking to his official Twitter account, the Prime Minister highlighted the matters the duo discussed in their first phone conversation since the American leader assumed office.</p> <p>"Spoke to @POTUS @JoeBiden and conveyed my best wishes for his success. We discussed regional issues and our shared priorities. We also agreed to further our co-operation against climate change,” PM Modi tweeted. </p> <p>"President @JoeBiden and I are committed to a rules-based international order. The first high-level engagement between the Indian leadership and the new US administration took place two weeks ago, when US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss regional and global issues including developments in the Indo-Pacific.</p>
