<p>Counting of votes for the polls in six municipal corporations of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar began at 9 AM on Tuesday morning amid high security.</p> <p>Voting for the 576 seats in 144 wards across six Gujarat civic bodies was held between 7 am and 6 pm on Sunday. The State Election Commission said that an average 46.08 percent turnout was registered during voting. </p> <p>In a released issued by the SEC, the poll body stated that Ahmedabad recorded the lowest turnout of 42.51 percent. Jamnagar saw the highest turnout of 53.38 percent, followed by 50.72 percent in Rajkot, 49.46 percent in Bhavnagar, 47.84 percent in Vadodara and 47.14 percent in Surat.</p>
